Local News That Matters — When You Need It

The St. Albert Gazette is your trusted source for breaking news, community stories, and events in St. Albert, Alberta’s oldest permanent settlement.

The Gazette has chronicled the lives of residents and area events for more than 60 years. The paper was founded in 1961 in the community’s centennial year.

Locally owned for its entire history and currently in its third generation of family operation by the Jamison family, the Gazette has collected hundreds of industry honours over the decades. The awards include several citations as best newspaper in the country from the Canadian Community Newspapers' Association, and many wins as best newspaper in the province from the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association.

As part of Great West Media, we’re committed to producing some of Canada’s best community newspapers and online news platforms. Our mission is rooted in delivering credible, high-quality journalism that readers rely on — both online and in print.

From breaking news to features on local businesses, school events, and inspiring residents, we cover the stories that shape our community. We also provide provincial and national news as well as opinions from trusted sources such as The Canadian Press

We’re proudly independent and fiercely local — just like you.
